Long-sleeve Lotto with Motta sponsor, featuring the Scudetto shield and star on the chest and the season’s diamond/crest jacquard. Classic white body with the red chest band and black trim, rib cuffs with red/black tipping. Finished with No. 3 integrated in the fabric; as per Serie A regulations of the time, the shirt carries no player name.
Milan, coached by Fabio Capello, completed a third straight Scudetto and produced an historic defensive record, conceding 15 goals in 34 league matches. In Europe they won the UEFA Champions League, defeating Barcelona 4–0 in Athens. Maldini, the ever-present pillar of the back line, alternated between left-back and centre-back and wore No. 3 throughout the campaign.
