AS Roma home shirt (giallorosso), 1996/97 — match-worn by Vincent Candela.
short-sleeve Asics issue with Candela 32 in original flock to the back; season-correct player spec and typography.
In 1996–97, Vincent Candela joined Roma from Guingamp during the winter window and made 15 Serie A appearances, scoring 2 goals, in his first half-season in Italy. Roma finished a disappointing 12th in Serie A under Carlos Bianchi, who was replaced in April by Nils Liedholm, but Candela quickly established himself as an attacking full-back with strong delivery and versatility on either side. Before moving to Rome, he had already helped Guingamp win the 1996 UEFA Intertoto Cup; he would later go on to win the 2000–01 Serie A title with Roma and be part of France’s squads for the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000.
