Juventus home shirt, 1998/99, match-worn by Alessandro Del Piero (No. 10). Kappa issue with D+ Liberta Digitale sponsor; long-sleeve player spec with Serie A patch.
Alessandro Del Piero’s 1998–99 season effectively ended on 8 November 1998 at Udinese, when he ruptured the anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments in his left knee; he finished the campaign with two goals and missed the rest of the year. Juventus faltered without him: Marcello Lippi announced in December he would leave, was dismissed in February, Carlo Ancelotti finished the season, and the team slipped to 7th, losing a UEFA Cup play-off to Udinese (they still reached the Champions League semi-final, losing to Manchester United). The injury became the pivot of his career, with a long rehabilitation before his 1999–2000 return.
Status: Part of the Calcio 90 Private Collection, not for sale.
