Inter UEFA Cup shirt, 1997/98, match-worn by Giuseppe Bergomi (No. 2). Umbro issue with Pirelli sponsor in the UEFA Cup variant: long sleeves, star-topped crest, and European competition spec (no Lega Calcio patch). The back carries BERGOMI 2 in the lighter UEFA nameset. This is the rare European version worn exclusively in the UEFA Cup run and is widely considered one of the most desirable Inter shirts for collectors.
Under Gigi Simoni, Inter finished second in Serie A and won the UEFA Cup, overturning Strasbourg, edging Spartak Moscow in the semis, and beating Lazio 3–0 in the Paris final, a return to European silverware in the early Pirelli era.
Wearing No. 2, Giuseppe “Lo Zio” Bergomi captained the side through the continental campaign, anchoring the right of defence with positioning and experience and ultimately lifting the UEFA Cup, a signature moment late in his Inter career.
