Roberto Carlos arrived in the summer of 1995 and lit up San Siro. He played just one season in Milan, making 34 appearances and scoring seven goals before departing for Real Madrid in 1996. Inter’s year was turbulent: three coaches, Roy Hodgson taking over in October, and a haul to seventh in Serie A. The Brazilian was sometimes pushed higher up the pitch, a tactical frustration he later said hastened his exit.
