Rossi was Milan’s imposing last line—2.02m of reach, calm hands, and a voice that organized everything in front of him. The club shifted from Tabárez to Sacchi and the season wobbled, but Rossi remained the constant: commanding his box, punching through traffic, and starting attacks with those raking kicks. Only a few years earlier he had set the Serie A record for minutes without conceding, a measure of his authority in an era of iron defences.
