Nicola Berti helped Inter win the record-points Scudetto in 1988–89, the 1989 Supercoppa, and two UEFA Cups (1991, 1994), scoring in the first leg of the 1991 final against Roma. Energetic, aerially strong and dangerous with late penalty-area runs, he was a regular for Italy across Euro ’88 and the 1990 and 1994 World Cups before closing his Inter decade and moving on to Tottenham and Middlesbrough.
