Milan won the 1995–96 Scudetto under Fabio Capello. Baggio scored in the 3–1 win over Fiorentina that mathematically sealed the title on 28 April 1996. This season also introduced fixed squad numbers in Serie A, and Baggio took the No. 18 from day one. He arrived as a reigning champion and became one of the few players to win consecutive Scudetti with different clubs (Juventus ’94/95, Milan ’95/96).
